Shrimati Binzani Mahila Mahavidyalaya committed to the cause of Women’s Education is one of the renowned Institutions of Central Nagpur. The college has earned a distinguished name amongst the fraternity of students having the vision of creating role model women for the society. The college runs under the guidance of Nagpur Shikshan Mandal, a dynamic Management adorned by illustrious personalities of Nagpur. The Institution is well known as a single faculty Arts college having a spectrum of optional subjects. Keeping pace with changing times, we have introduced new Career Oriented Certificate Courses for value addition to the B.A degree.

The junior college in Arts stream has an array of subjects from Psychology,Home Economics,Political Science,Logic,History , Economics and four languages.Regular classes,Vidyarthini Utkarsh Mandal,SBMM Utsav,sports activities and planned co- curricular activities are the special.features of our institution.

Bachelor of Arts

The Bachelor of Arts or BA has duration of three years. This course is affiliated to RTM Nagpur University and follows the syllabus decided by the university. Our institution offers BA degree in Marathi and Hindi with a wide range of optional subjects that is 16 along with languages. Our institution caters to the process of job orientation in students as we offer skill development through Music, Psychology and literatures in four languages like English, Marathi, Hindi, and Sanskrit. We also have subjects which help students prepare for competitive exams like Political Science and Economics. and History. We have a qualified and dedicated team of faculty members who engage the students in teaching-Learning activities and ICT reinforced teaching to enhance the teaching process. To achieve the goal of ALL round development of students, the institution organizes a wide range of co-curricular activities. We have skill development academies and certificate courses on varied themes for value addition of BA degree. The feedback received from students year after year authenticates our efforts in the overall value addition of this BA course.

Master Of Arts

M.A. or Master of Arts is a Postgraduate Course in Hindi Literature offered by our institution.Students who have passed B.A. or any equivalent exam are eligible for this course.The course comprises of four semesters.It is a non-granted Programme affiliated to RTM Nagpur University.

Certificate Courses

Under the aegis of Value Enhancement cell,different certificate courses either sponsored by the institution and in collaboration with an NGO or affiliated to the Adult and Continuing education Department of RTM Nagpur university are run with expert resource persons as faculty.This provides as value enhancement to their BA degree and assists students to become job competent.This is our premier feature as students can avail these added courses on the campus,in college timings and with minimum fees.Dr Derpa Balkhande, In charge of Value Enhancement cell.looks after the organisation of these courses.

Academies

Academies - The institution runs four academies -

Digital bane - The students current students and alumni are given training in DTP,Tally,MS-Office through this.academy under IQAC Cell .Academy In- charge Dr Amruta Bhuskute.

Swara Music academy - Professional training in light and classical music is provided to students from the college and outside without any age limit through half yearly or annual courses. The students are prepared for competitions.The academy has won many prestigious awards for the institution.Academy In - charge Ms Deepashri Patil.

Dhyeya Academy- The students need for mentorship for cracking competitive exams like UPSC,MPSC,SSC,IBPS is catered on the campus itself through Dhyeya academy under the Training send Placement cell of the college.Expert faculty members work as mentors in this academy.Academy In charge Shri Dinesh Alam,Training and Placement officer- Dr Charuta Joshi.

Tana Bana Academy- Courses like Badic Tailoring course and advanced tailoring course are run under this academy where current as well as past students can take benefit.Academy In charge-Dr Shubhangi Kukekar.

Internship, Training & Placement

The skill development of the students is looked after by Training and Placement cell.To make the students job competent through relevant skills is the objective of this cell.From this session,the Government sponsored Shrimati Binzani Mahila Skill Development centre is available for the students free of cost for training in stitching and cosmetics.Women from age group of 18 to 40 can join these courses.Training and Placement cell in charge Dr Charuta Joshi is the coordinator of these NSDC courses.In addition ,certificate courses like Parth project is also undertaken in collaboration with Chitnavis centre.The institution thus works as an incubation centre with a hub of activities organised to counsel,guide students for job and entrepreneurship.

Career Katta

Career Katta is initiated jointly by the Maharashtra Information Technology Support Centre (MITSC) and Maharashtra State Higher and Technical Department. Its motto is to provide value-added skilled human resources. To develop entrepreneurial skills among the youth it has started 'Udyojak Aaplya Bhetila', and to make the bureaucrats and Officers it has started IAS Aaplya Bhetila. Only 365/- charge for three years. A series of video lectures is provided freely through its youtube channel. The LRC website has provided here the link of this youtube channel named Uva Jagar Abhiyan. Bhartiya Sanvidhaanache Parayan, Vruttapatra Vedh, etc.are linked on this portal.

The institution has become a very good coordinator between the activities of Career Katta and students.The Institution has assigned a dedicated faculty for the same Shri Lanjewar.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

NSS

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government sector public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Mahatma Gandhi's centenary year in 1969.
Smt.Binzani Mahila Mahavidyalaya has an active NSS Cell of 100 students. Programmes like cleanliness drives, Tree Plantation programmes, Blood Donation camps, Health check-up camps for students and society are held in each academic session to sensitise the students about the varied social problems and their solutions. Dr Shubhangi Kukekar is the NSS Cell In -charge for the session 2024-25.

Sports

Sports - The sports department of the college is vibrant with a spectrum of activities which include, On the field training for different sports, yoga workshops, medical check-up camps, physical fitness checking camps and various competitions during annual social gathering. The students of the institution have brought laurels to the institution at state and national levels.The college has its own playground where training for sports like badminton,football,hockey,softball is given.The students are also coached for indoor games like carrom and chess. Achievers in sports are felicitated with special scholarships as motivation for academic enhancement.Shri Palash Joshi is the in -charge of this department.

VUM

VUM- Vidyarthi Utkarsh Mandal is a platform created especially to facilitate the showcasing of the talent of students in fine art skills like dance,music,drawing ,painting and other language skills.Inter -collegiate competitions like Sundar Vaktrutva spardha,Va.Ma Damle Natyabhinaya Spardha,Nagdeo Ghazal Spardha and Vimal Pattarkine Sugam Sangeet Spardha have created their brand names over the years and many stalwarts from different social spheres of the present day in Nagpur remember about being part of these competitions and share their indebtedness to these competitions for having helped them to shape their personality. In the golden jubilee celebration of our institution, quite a few of our Alumni reminisced about the strong role played by this forum in shaping their careers. The forum not only focuses in developing singing,debating,elocution,editing skills but also compering and organisational skills in students.Dr Amruta Bhuskute is the VUM In charge for the session 2024_25.

Alumni

Alumni- The institution has a registered Alumni association with a large membership.The Alumni sponsors fees of the needy students through Chhatra Protsahan Yojana. The other funds collected are utilised for the benefit of the students through purchase of important gadgets,furniture or organisation of seminars and programmes.The skilled Alumni in different fields are invited as Chief guest or resource person as an inspiration for the current students.Dr Deepa Balkhande and Dr Amruta Bhuskute are the President and Secretary of the Alumni Association of our institution.
